WHAT IS A HAND EMBNELLISHED GICLÈE ?
A giclèe is the highest quality print on the planet, spraying one million dots of archival ink per square inch, enabling light-fast integrity for up to 300 years. Our giclèes are printed on canvas to better replicate the texture of the original oil it is reproduced from and to prepare it for the subsequent layer of hand painted oil to follow. Each canvas is hand painted with both thin, glazed layers of oil paint and some more impasto, thicker passages, making them indistiguishable from the originals. This process of adding oils by hand is called, "Hamd Embellished" and is a painstaking process sometimes taking days to complete a single canvas. This insures that no two are exactly alike. Each Edition is limited to 100 (unless otherwise noted) and then the plate is destroyed foever.

Originally painted in 2021, the scene is of a lobster boat cruising the early morning shore off of Nubble Light house in Cape Neddick, Maine.
Painted during the difficult period when mom was ill, this almost monochromatic scene is practically devoid of color to better emphasize a transcendental light and its affects on atmosphere and forms. The lobsterman has left the captains quarters, humbly resigned with his routine while the slow trolling boat passes through a vertical gateway of sparkled light. The bird on the stern represents freedom, strength, longevity, eternity, happiness and love.
