Also included are Zoom guest artist teachers with Nationally recognized, professional painters sharing their perspective and wisdom.
Each week, we will explore one of a broad range of topics designed for personal growth in your on-going journey in your development as an artist.

ITINERARY
Week 1: The Art Gym. Drawing. Extend your technical tool box by exploring three different Academic approaches to see and draw the same subject. We will look at historic Master drawings and have an exercise for homework.
Week 2: Art of self critique: Critique drawings from last week. Be your own teacher in the absence of instruction with this critique hack designed to strengthen your objective skills and expand your understanding of the language of art. Students will be challenged to critique master works and their own work.
Week 3: Guest Artist Tom Hughes: A visit with 2019 Plein air salon winner Tom Hughes. Choosing subjects to paint, simplifying and seeing. Thumbnail sketch challenge homework.
Week 4: :Perspective : Perspective for the artist. A simple understanding with homework assignment.
Week 5: Art History with Chris Volpe:: Art History suprise topic lecture with Artist, Art History teacher and lecturer and my good friend Christopher Volpe. We will find academic relevance to draw from and use in our own work.
Week 6 Guest Artist Kevin Beers: . Nationally recognized Alla Prima painter Kevin Beers and 5 cool things artist's should know. Kevin will share his more than 35 years of painting on Monhegan with stories, anecdotes, tips, tricks and hacks.
Week 7: Art Biz / Studio Tip:. Fve excellent studio tips and tricks: Priming Art panels, Glueing canvas, washing brushes for longevity, tubing Liquin or medium and more...
Week 8: Story Time / Focus on Design: . Introduction to Fairfield Porter and Richard Deibenkorn with focus on modern design and color. Homework assignment.
Week 9: Guest Artist Donald Journey: Your own path and making it up. My mentor and Internationally known painter, Donald Journey .

Week 10: Student final critique: Crit student work.
