Spring session #1:
March 31 - May 05, 2026
We meet online every Tuesday. (sessions are recorded and sent to you if you miss one or more or cannot be there in person.
Get fresh eyes on your work in this small group, online Critique club. This class is designed to identify your painting weaknesses, provide objective solutions and give you the tools necessary to navigate your personal artistic growth.
You will email an image of a painting either finished, in progress or photos of potential paintings or prior works. In real time, I will edit your project in photoshop, transforming corrections so that a visual aid of the changes accompanies concrete, objective, academic suggestions. Working from the "Critique Sandwich" strategy, we will discuss what works and why, whats not working and why, followed by how exactly to fix whats not working. We will use the "Language" of art in our critique process, exercising our understanding of Design, Value, Color, Shape, Line, HIerarchy and Unity.
This is an excellent environment to check in weekly with your peers, stay focused on improving your painting skill set and exercise the language of art.
